Private (Pte) Jim Richmond, 11 Platoon, D Company, was one of two wounded Australians found 12 hours after the Battle of Long Tan by members of his platoon. He had been shot twice through the chest and lay all night, face down, at his section post. Pte Richmond was air-lifted to Vung Tau and eventually medevacked to Australia. AWM FOR/66/0664/VN
