The Snapshots From Home league helped families to send images of themselves and their houses to soldiers, combating 'the invisible enemy of men at the front ... heart-hunger, loneliness, isolation, homesickness'. Six thousand volunteers across Australia took 150,000 photographs, developed them, printed them, and mailed them to the front line. (Frederick Pegram, chromolithograph, 47 x 32 cm, AWM ARTV05498)
