Sydney, NSW, September 1945. An emotional family welcome home at Mascot airport for a former prisoner of war Captain Kay Parker (right), Australian Army Nursing Service (AANS). Captain Parker was one of six Australian Army nurses captured at Rabaul in 1942 along with seven civilian administrative nurses, four Methodist missionary nurses, and a civilian housewife. They were all transported to Japan and interned at Yokohama. The woman on the left is possibly Lieutenant Daisy (Tootie) Keast, AANS, another inmate from Yokohama.
