Wearing greatcoats against the early morning cold, Australians advance on Bardia on 6 January 1941. The commander of the 2/2nd Battalion said there was a great tension among the troops of the 6th Division as they awaited their first battle. Almost every man was conscious that this was a test of their ability to live up to the reputation of the 1st AIF. (AWM 069221)
