Prime Minister Menzies addresses members of the AIF at Tobruk in February 1941. Arthur Bryant of the 2/17th Battalion recalled the battalion having a thorough kit inspection in preparation for the Prime Minister's visit, and a rehearsal the afternoon before he arrived. Standing before the Australians at Tobruk, the Prime Minister told the troops that he brought with him a 'message of admiration and encouragement from your loved ones back home'.
