A soldier sitting at a table, cup in hand and a bottle of beer

Corporal James 'Jim' Willis enjoys a beer in February 1941. Willis was killed in action at Er Reijima in one of the Australian's first fights against the Germans in North Africa. He died trying to cover the withdrawal of his comrades who, in the event, were all also killed, wounded, or taken prisoner by the Germans. (AWM P05238.001)
