Two men of the 2/12th Battalion, Private Patrick Lattin (left) and Sergeant Stanley French, both from Tasmania, photographed before going into action in North Africa. French was killed in action in Libya during April 1941 and exactly one month later Lattin was taken prisoner by the Germans at Tobruk. (AWM P04977.002)
