The grave of Sergeant Oliver Dossetor in Beirut War Cemetery being visited by a soldier, possibly his brother, Captain Colin Dossetor. Oliver Dossetor was fatally wounded in action at Jezzine, Syria, despite a valiant attempt to save his life. Lance Corporal Russel McConnell had seen Dossetor’s platoon in trouble and rushed to help, firing upon the French machine-gunners. His action distracted the gunners long enough for the platoon to get to safety, but McConnell was killed while attempting to carry the wounded Dossetor to safety.
