Wing Commander Peter Jeffrey DSO, DFC, talks with Sergeant A Cameron of No. 3 Squadron RAAF, November 1941. Jeffrey earned a Distinguished Service Order for rescuing Cameron when his P-40 Tomahawk crashed in enemy territory following a dog-fight. Jeffrey landed and abandoned his parachute so the two could share the cockpit, undoubtedly a tight squeeze given Cameron's height, and return to base.
