Members of the 6th Division come ashore from a landing barge at Aitape beach in November 1944. Due to a lack of shipping, the concentration of the 6th Division lasted from September till December. The official caption identifies the soldier in the foreground as Corporal M Gill of the 2/7th Battalion. AWM 083558
