A male soldier pointing to a place on a map with a ruler with seven more male soldiers looking on.

A section of the 2/4th Battalion prepares to go on patrol in January 1945, as the Intelligence Officer, Lieutenant Ross Ellerman, briefs the men with the aid of a relief map. This patrol was probably headed east of the Danmap River, which looks like a long ribbon on the map. Within two weeks, the river would be severely flooded. AWM 018009
