Threw aircraft crewmen pushing out cargo from a aeroplane.

Australians of 2/160 Supply Depot Platoon push a load of supplies out the doorway of a RAAF Douglas C-47 Dakota transport in early 1945. Until March of that year, this unit and 2/188 Supply Depot Platoon were entirely responsible for supplying the 17th Brigade in its inland advance. Initially there was one, later two of these 'biscuit bombers' available. Here, Private Ted Rowell lies on his back, ready to apply pressure at the key moment. Also needed to shift the heavy load, with its attached parachute, are Private Ted Ross and Sergeant Harry Whaling. The 44-year-old Whaling would be killed in an accident on 17 February 1945.
