A wounded soldier is checked over by RAAF medical personnel after being flown out of the Torricelli Range in an Auster during the Aitape-Wewak campaign in New Guinea in 1945. 16 and 17 (Air Observation Post) Flights flew Austers on artillery spotting, medical evacuation and light transport sorties in mainland New Guinea, Bougainville, New Britain and Borneo.
