Private Edward 'Ted' Kenna VC, 2/4th Battalion. Kenna was awarded the Victoria Cross for 'magnificent courage and complete disregard for his own safety' in action near the Wirui Mission on 15 May 1945. His accurate shooting from a completely exposed position led to the capture of a bunker that had halted the advance. AWM 134485A
