Male soldiers gathered in a little clearing with logs.

Sappers of the 2/14th Field Company observe the effects of their handiwork on a Japanese bunker near the summit of the feature known as 'The Blot' on 14 July 1945. The explosion was caused by a blast bomb comprising a hand grenade attached to a tin full of about half a kilo of ammonal. Numerous blast bombs were used in the campaign, especially in the capture of Wewak itself. AWM 094029
