We had gas bottles, so we'd decant out of a large sort of gas bottle that we took to resupply ourselves through the system. And yeah, we'd cook up, you know, if we could get bread, we'd get bread, very rarely we did but we'd just heat up our ration packs.

Armoured vehicles are a little bit different. We had five-man ration packs that had bigger tins, because we normally supplement and support the infantry guys as well. So we would, you know, what we call a train smash, throw everything in the pot and eat it. And that's what you did.
