One of the first groups of RAAF Empire Air Training Scheme graduates to arrive in the United Kingdom, c. December 1940. Reporting the arrival in Australia, the Minister for Air, John McEwen, remarked that this would be 'bad news for Hitler's air force' and that the arrival of the contingent meant that 'the first instalment of Australia's greatest contribution to the air war was about to be made'.
