John Allcot, Hospital Ship Manunda (1944, watercolour on paper, 31.8 x 43.1 cm, AWM ART28076). The vessel made four trips to the Middle East between October 1940 and September 1941. The Manunda sailed for Darwin in January 1942. During the first Japanese air-raid on the town on 19 February, she suffered several hits; twelve people on board were killed and eighteen seriously wounded.
