Classroom resources

The Anzac Portal classroom provides free, student friendly information and engaging learning activities, on the experiences of Australians in wars, conflicts and peace operations. It is designed specifically for teachers and students in Australian schools.

Teaching and learning resources

We create primary and secondary school resources with classroom-ready content. Our education specialists work with qualified historians to create resources for students that:

  • contain accurate and accessible historical information
  • include primary source veteran perspectives
  • build on the History knowledge and skills required in the Australian Curriculum
  • motivate them with engaging, thought-provoking and varied learning experiences.

Our free learning resources for Australian educators include teacher-designed:

  • classroom activities and lessons aligned to the Australian Curriculum that embed differentiation
  • interactive online activities to encourage student engagement and participation
  • printable, lesson-ready student workbooks and worksheets to provide scaffolded knowledge and consolidate learning of skills and concepts
  • explicit guided lesson sequences and practice tasks in source analysis skills
  • short films and videos communicating veterans' experiences
  • time-saving, lesson-ready workbooks and books
  • extension and enrichment activities
  • engaging activities for fast finishers.
