About this activity
Connect with the experiences of the Vietnam War through observation and reflection.
This activity encourages people to closely observe a historical image from the Vietnam War and use their senses to imagine what it may have been like to be present when the photograph was taken. By engaging their senses, people can develop empathy, curiosity and a deeper understanding of the experiences of those involved in the conflict.
Instructions
- Download and print the activity guide and image sensory cards (you may wish to laminate the cards).
- Arrange the cards around a focal spot on the floor or a table.
- Set the scene with some cloths, a battery-operated candle or instrumental music if you wish.
- When facilitating the activity, take your time and pause between questions from the activity guide.
